Trip to New York City – March 2025
Back in January, Laura asked me if we could go to New York City again this year for spring break. I always feel so blessed when my kids want to go do things with me, so I was happy to say yes! We went last year too and just had the best time. This was our fourth time visiting NYC since 2019 and our third visit since 2023 so I feel like it’s becoming an annual tradition.
We drove in on Sunday and stayed at the same hotel we usually stay at in Syossett, NY, on Long Island. On Monday morning, we drove into Manhattan, and our first stop was Liberty Bagels for bagel sandwiches. These were some of the best bagels I’ve ever had. They had a large selection of flavored cream cheese. Laura got the strawberry cream cheese, and I got the avocado cream cheese. Yum!
After bagels and the parade, we went to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art
On Day 2 we went to Southamptons, NY to do some shopping at we ate lunch at the Hampton Coffee Company. Later we went back into Manhattan to do some more shopping. We ate pizza at Joe’s Pizza and went to Times Square to eat our pizza. Then we finished up the evening with a little more shopping. I’m always looking for the perfect pair of jeans!
On Day 3, we visited the financial district. Laura has dreams of one day publicly trading her own company so Wall Street is exciting! We got our picture with the Bull for the first time. We didn’t go see the 911 memorial because we did that last year. After walking around the financial district for a couple hours we drove over to Greenwich Village for coffee and pan au chocolate at Ralph’s Coffee. Then we went to SoHo for more shopping and finished the day on 5th Avenue.
And finally on Day 4 we started the day out by going to the Met Cloisters. This museum was so beautiful! After that we went to see the Fashion Institute of Technology (Laura is hoping to attend there once she graduates from college). We also visited FIT’s museum of fashion.
We ended the day back in SoHo to finish up shopping at some stores/ brands that Laura really wanted to visit. This year’s trip was so much fun. I can’t wait to go back. There were things we didn’t get to do this time, like visit the New York City Public Library, that we’re looking forward to next time.
Honestly, there are too many photos to share here. If you are really interested, you can see the entire album on my Facebook page here.
