Homeschooling with Amazon Prime

Homeschooling with Amazon Prime @ AVirtuousWoman.org

There are a number of reasons I love being an Amazon Prime member. I shop on Amazon almost every week. The money I save each week on shipping more than pays for my membership fee. I even regularly purchase 25-pound bags of organic spelt flour and get free two-day shipping!

I buy a lot of the books we use for homeschooling on Amazon – everything from spelling to handwriting to read-aloud books to science kits. I buy nature journals, art books, and books for myself. I buy my kids’ favorite series books, too. And I order most of my Project Life materials from Amazon. And I always get free shipping.

But FREE TWO DAY SHIPPING isn’t the only perk.

Did you know that Amazon Prime members have access to thousands of movies, documentaries, and TV shows for free? We have a DVD player {and a Wii in our family room} that connects to the internet – which allows us to stream Amazon Prime movies right to our television. Other options you could choose from are:

A few years ago we canceled our Dish Network to save money. Which means we don’t have access to “regular” television. But you know what? We haven’t missed it nearly as much as I thought we would. We weren’t big TV watchers, to begin with, but with Amazon Prime, we have plenty to choose from when we do want to watch TV or a movie. We get our news from the internet, in case you were wondering.

And two months without Dish Network paid for our annual membership to Amazon Prime.

Membership includes:

  • Instantly watch over 40,000 movies and TV episodes with titles for everyone
  • Borrow books from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library
  • Get unlimited FREE two-day shipping with no minimum order size on Prime products

I love showing the occasional documentary, nature program, or other educational movies during the home school day. Plus, if you have a Kindle, you have access to thousands of books in their lending library!

These are just a few of the movies/ shows we’ve enjoyed. There’s so much to choose from, I can’t possibly list them all!

You can try out an Amazon Prime Membership for 30 days FREE! So there’s really nothing to lose. Click here to start your FREE TRIAL.
