Video: Come Antique Shopping with Me + My 50% Off Haul
A couple days ago, I took a drive down to Greeneville, Tennessee to check out an antique mall downtown that had great reviews—and let me just say, it did not disappoint!
If you’ve ever wandered into a new antique shop and felt that little rush of excitement—wondering what stories you might uncover—you’ll know exactly how I felt walking into this one.
I’d heard great things about this place in downtown Greeneville, Tennessee, and decided it was finally time to check it out for myself. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but as always, a few treasures found their way home with me! Let’s take a look around the Greenville Antique Market and see what caught my eye.

I’d never been there before, but it turned out to be much bigger than I expected—three full floors of vintage treasures, quirky finds, and all kinds of things that tugged at my heart. If you love a good antique store (and a little nostalgia), you’re going to love this one.

First Impressions: Worth the Drive
Walking in, I didn’t expect much more than your average small-town antique shop—but this place just kept going. And the best part? The ladies working the counter were so kind. We ended up swapping stories and grandkid photos like old friends. If you’ve never been, definitely add Greeneville Antique Market to your list.
Here’s what I brought home…
1. Speedwriting Shorthand Textbook — $4
Okay, this one might seem a little odd to most people. It’s a textbook on shorthand writing—something I’ve never seen in an antique store before. I grabbed it the moment I saw it because it reminded me of Mrs. Jean Jackson, my kids’ great-grandmother.
She worked for the railroad years ago and used shorthand regularly. I remember her jotting down notes in that curly, mysterious script—and even writing little notes to me sometimes. I didn’t fully appreciate it back then, but I wish I had asked her more questions about her life and her work. This book brought all those memories rushing back.
It was marked $8, and I got it 50% off—just $4. A treasure, if you ask me. You can purchase it used on Amazon here.

2. Troop Activities: Boy Scouts of America — $1.50
You guys already know—I’m passionate about getting kids outside. Nature walks, camping trips, picnic lunches, backyard adventures—I’m all about it. So when I spotted this Boy Scouts troop activities book, I was thrilled.
It’s packed with hundreds of ideas and skills—from how to care for fishing tackle to fun campfire games and outdoor challenges. It’s the kind of book I would’ve loved to have when I was homeschooling. I can already see myself using it with my grandkids or even pulling it out at the camper this fall.
Also? It’s just going to look great on the family room bookshelf.
Originally $3. I paid $1.50. This one is available on Amazon here.

3. The Night Before Christmas (Vintage Little Golden Book) — $2.50
This one made me smile as soon as I saw it.
My mom read The Night Before Christmas to me every single Christmas Eve growing up. And I carried that tradition on with my kids. Now I read it to my grandkids—everyone cozies up together, and I read it aloud, just like my mom did. It’s one of those small but powerful traditions that makes the holidays feel special.
This vintage edition has the sweetest illustrations and will fit perfectly into my Christmas book basket or holiday decor. It was $5, but I got it for $2.50. Such a sweet find.
This one on Amazon is different but similar!

4. Vintage Wood Grain Thermos — $7
This might be my fifth or sixth vintage thermos—I kind of have a thing for them. I didn’t have one like this though. It’s got that classic wood grain look, and I just couldn’t leave it behind.
It was marked down from $14 to $7, and that might be the cheapest I’ve ever seen a thermos in decent condition. It’ll live in our family room with the others and probably end up in some seasonal displays, too. (Maybe even the camper when fall rolls around.) You can shop for this one on Etsy here.

All in all, it was such a fun little trip. I didn’t go overboard, but everything I brought home was meaningful—and that’s exactly how I like to shop. Thoughtful, useful, a little nostalgic.
If you’re ever near Greeneville, Tennessee, definitely stop in and visit the Greeneville Antique Market. The people were kind, the prices were great, and the store is full of charm.
