Happy Mother’s Day

To all you Mamas out there, I hope you had a special day!

My morning began like every Mother’s Day morning that I can remember for the last decade. My girls brought me breakfast in bed. It’s been their tradition for a long time. Dad doesn’t help them – they do everything themselves and make everything from scratch. Maybe you have a similar tradition in your house?

It’s my favorite way to begin the day. The girls are so sweet and their attention to detail is just precious. I love them so much! This morning they brought me this delicious tray of food:

  • heart shaped pancakes made from scratch
  • warm maple syrup
  • strawberries
  • scrambled eggs
  • orange slices
  • homemade Orange Julius

For some reason I was in a super deep sleep when they woke me up this morning. It was kind of funny, because when they came in to wake me up at 9 am, I nearly jumped out of my skin. I had woken up earlier – around 6 am – and let the dogs out but decided to crawl back in bed and pulled a pillow over my head so I didn’t notice the sun coming up. And I was sound asleep.

Breakfast was worth waking up for, though. It was delicious!

This Orange Julius copycat recipe is amazing. My daughter Laura makes them for everyone at least once a week. So yummy! Laura recently made a tutorial video for the recipe. I thought you might enjoy it!
