A Cozy Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe You’ll Love!

There’s something about February that calls for a little extra warmth. With the bleak midwinter and dreary weather the days beg for cozy moments—whether it’s curling up with a book, gathering around the table, or sharing stories with loved ones. And what better way to bring that warmth into your home than with a rich, homemade hot chocolate?

In my house I have a hot chocolate bar in our family room and I do keep a glass canister full of hot chocolate powder mix for easy serving any time of the day. But sometimes you really just want to make it extra good and making it homemade is the way to go!

Cozy Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe

This isn’t the powdered mix from a packet. It’s a simple, from-scratch recipe that turns everyday ingredients into something special. Creamy, chocolatey, and just the right amount of indulgent, it’s a sweet way to slow down and savor the season.

  3. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt for balance.
  4. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings.
  5. Sip slowly & savor with a good book or while gathering with loved ones.
