9 Autumn Simmer Pot Recipes: Free Printable
The smell of apple and cinnamon or citrus and cloves can transport you straight into the heart of autumn in an instant. Would you like an easy way to make your whole home smell like fall without spending a lot of money?
There’s just something about walking into a home that smells like autumn. Maybe it’s the way warm spices instantly feel comforting, or how a hint of orange and clove reminds us of childhood holidays and busy kitchens and sweaters fresh out of storage. Fall scents just feel like home.
One of my favorite ways to bring that feeling into the house is with a simmer pot—a simple blend of fruit, spices, herbs, and aromatics gently simmered on the stove or in a slow cooker. It’s one of the easiest homemaking traditions to begin, and it fills your home with the kind of nostalgic fragrance that candles just can’t replicate. Today I’m sharing a free printable you’ll love with 9 Simmer Pot Recipes for Fall.

When I was growing up my mom always kept a simmer pot on the stove during the holidays. So, for me, it’s just not the holidays without a pot of fragrant spices simmering away on the stove top. In fact, I like to keep on simmering all through the fall and winter season when the air is especially dry.
And because I know many of you love printable resources you can tuck into your Home Companion binder, I created something special for you.

What Is a Simmer Pot?
A simmer pot is simply a pot of water filled with natural ingredients—like sliced fruit, whole spices, herbs, and extracts—that gently simmers on the stovetop to create a warm and inviting scent throughout the home.
It’s a beautiful way to:
- Create a cozy atmosphere on chilly fall days
- Replace harsh synthetic fragrances with natural ingredients
- Use up leftover fruit or herbs before they spoil
- Add a welcoming touch before guests arrive
- Make ordinary days feel special
